•  The following is a list of expectations for classroom materials, classroom behaviors, and grading policies.

    Materials                   

    • Pen or Pencil
    • 3 Ring Binder with side pockets OR Spiral Notebook with folder
    • Calculator (Graphing if possible)

    Behavior

    • All students are expected to respect themselves, others, and the classroom environment.
    • There is no food or drinks allowed in the classroom.
    • There should be no electronic devices exposed in the classroom unless otherwise given permission to use for instructional purposes only!  The classroom and its instructional time is not considered a common area and electronic devises should not be used for social purposes at any time as it will detract from a learning focus.

    Course Policies

    • Attendance – All students are to be in class everyday.  Students that have an excused absence are responsible to get all work missed.  Those absences that are unexcused will receive a zero for the days work.
    • Late Policy – All students are expected to be in class and prepared to work when the bell rings.  After the third lateness he/she will receive a detention as well as one for any lates that follow.  On the fifth late the student will be referred to the office on a misconduct form.
    • Grading – Students grades will be based on:

    Test: 40% of student's grade

    Quizzes: 25% of student’s grade

    Classwork: 25% of student’s grade

    Homework: 10% of student’s grade

    • Tests – Tests will be given at the end of each chapter.  Any test that is missed due to an excused absence can be made up at any time.  It is the students’ responsibility to schedule time to make up the test.
    • Quizzes – Quizzes will be given periodically through each chapter and may or may not be announced prior to the quiz.  Any quiz that is missed due to an excused absence can be made up at any time.  It is the student’s responsibility to schedule time to make up the quiz.
    • Homework – When homework is assigned, it will be checked or collected at the beginning of each class for credit.  Each assignment is a zero if not handed in on time.  If a student misses an assignment due to an excused absence, it is the student’s responsibility to find out what materials and assignments he/she has missed and has five days to complete it before it is considered late.
    • Class Assignments – Assignments will be given almost every day.  It will be checked by the end of class.  If student does not participate in the assignment the grade will be marked as a zero.
