Welcome to the Coatesville Area School District Police Department! Let us introduce our new police officers Lauren Trego and Ronald Simril. Please welcome these officers to the CASD community.

Officer Lauren Trego is an experienced police officer who has worked for the Downingtown Borough Police Department and served as a School Resource Officer (SRO) at Downingtown East (we won't hold this against her). Most recently, Officer Trego served as an SRO for The Lincoln Center, in Autobahn, PA. Officer Trego worked directly with our students attending TLC.

Officer Ronald Simril was a police officer with the Oxford Borough Police Department, and recently retired after 20 years of service to the community. Officer Simril is a USMC Veteran who held the rank of Corporal and served as an aviation mechanic.

CASD Police Chief Frank Galbraith stated, "This is an exciting time for our department. I've been impressed by their connections to the Coatesville community and their desire to work directly with our students. I have spoken with numerous people who know them and they are each highly regarded". 

"Having heard the officers share some of their life experiences, I have no doubt that what they have faced has prepared them to be dedicated, empathetic, and genuinely concerned for the safety and well being of our students and staff,” Galbraith added.

The officers have been training over the summer and officially started on August 4th. Officer Trego will be assigned to CASH, Caln Elementary School, and Scott Middle School. Officer Simril will be assigned to CAIHS, Reeceville Elementary School, and North Brandywine Middle School.
