SAT day 3/13 for Juniors at CASH

CASH Students and Parents,

On March 13, Coatesville Senior High will be administering the SAT for current Juniors of CASH. As a result, all 10th graders and Seniors will be virtual. They will complete their assignments from home. Assignment submission will indicate attendance as they are asynchronous.

10th and 12th grade students / parents, please make sure your students are aware.

For our Junior students/parents, the SAT is a national exam given by College Board. It is a tool Universities and Colleges use to determine acceptance, as well as a great tool for students to gain knowledge of their academic strengths and areas of development. Often, Juniors will take this exam in the Spring of their Junior Year, then again at the beginning of Senior Year. The positive news is this Spring exam administration is given at NO COST to STUDENTS. We encourage all Juniors to take advantage of this great opportunity.

Keep in mind that on this day, CASH will only be administering the SAT Exam. Students who do not plan to take the SAT should complete their normal assignments virtually from home. All CASH staff will be proctoring the exam for much of the day.

Juniors who are testing – YOU MUST BRING YOUR FULLY CHARGED CHROMEBOOK on test day. The College Board has moved to digital testing for the SAT exam.

Please also bring a pencil / writing utensil. Scratch paper will be provided.

Also, please keep in mind that students MAY NOT HAVE ANY ELECTRONIC DEVICES ON THEIR PERSON DURING TESTING. They will be prompted multiple times to turn off and put away their devices. If they are caught with an electronic device, their test will be invalidated and reported to College Board. This may impact their ability to take future College Board Assessments.

Understand the Digital SAT

TCHS Students – There will be NO BUSING to or from TCHS on 3/13. Juniors who attend TCHS should plan to take the SAT test.

Note to 10th and 12th grade TCHS students – TCHS WILL be open. If you are able to get transportation to and from TCHS, you may attend, but are not required. TCHS is aware of this test day. If your student attends TCHS, they should not return to CASH. They will report back home and complete their virtual assignments for CASH classes.

DCCC students – We WILL provide busing on this day for you. Juniors should still plan to take the SAT test. 10th and 12th grade DCCC students will return to CASH after testing has been completed. Given the small number of students, they will be allowed to return to CASH, but are not obligated. They too have the option of completing their CASH class assignments asynchronously.

If you have any questions regarding this day and what your child should be doing, please reach out to the main office at CASH.

Thank you, parents, for your assistance on this day. We look forward to creating a quiet and focused testing space for our Juniors and we wish them good luck!
