- Q: What is the Password Policy
- Minimum 8 characters
- Use at least one upper case character
- User at least one lower case character
- User at least one number
- Use at least one special character
- Do NOT include any part of the your first or last name in the password (Complexity Requirements)
- Q: When I change my Windows / Active Directory password, does it Synch and immediately change in the Google / G-Suite Cloud?
- A: Yes (it may take up to 2 hours to propagate)

- Q: My 7 character password used to and still does work, but should I change it to 8 characters?
- A: You “should” change it to 8 characters for a few reasons
- If you use the Google ChromeBooks/Google G-Suite Apps/etc, then the 8 Character min Google enforces will STOP you from logging into Google-based items, (Even though our internal Windows Active Directory infrastructure currently has a 7 character minimum enforced policy)
- The Longer your password is, the SAFER your password is!!!!!!!
- A minimum password length of 8 ensures that there are at least 218,340,105,584,896 different possibilities for a single password. This makes a brute force attack difficult, but still not impossible.

CASD Website Login
If you are an employee of CASD, you have access to our CASD website. To log into our CASD website go to our CASD website (www.casdschools.org) in the top menu bar click on the "Sign in" link.
A sign in box will appear.
Use your computer credentials to gain access. Typically the username is your lastname, first initial and the password is the same as your computer password.
If your login does not work, please utilize our online help system so we can check your account. You may find a link to that on our main page on you may click on this link for immediate access: Helpdesk
If you want to access your website to make changes, go back to the top menu and choose the "Site Manager" link.

Employee Web Portal
INSTRUCTIONS
- Go to the district website www.casdschools.org (sometimes clicking this link does not work - you may have to type the address into the URL on the site)
- Click on: Resources - Employee Resources Under "Helpful Links for Employees" -
- Click on the icon for "employee portal" and you will be taken to the log in screen.
- If you already have access to the CSIU financial applications, Payroll, Personnel and Fund Accounting you will use your current log in and password that you use at the SECOND log in screen of the financial applications.
- PLEASE NOTE: You must capitalize the first letter of your log in for this application.
- Example: Mary Smith - log in is Msmith.
- It will prompt you to change your password the first time but you can make it the same if you so choose.
For all other users WITHOUT access to CSIU financial apps… you will use the following information to log in for the first time.
- FYI: Your log in cannot be changed, that is a computer generated log in ID according to parameters set up in the system, only your password can be changed
- Log in - use your last name and last four digits of your social security number (all lower case and if your name is hyphenated please remember to use the entire hyphenated name)
- You will also be prompted to change your password.
- Password - last four of your social security number
Example: Sally Smith - social security #999-99-9999
Log in – smith9999 Password - 9999

Google Login
Every CASD employee has access to a CASD Google account. To access your Google account go to www.google.com. At the top right you should see a login box. Use your CASD email credentials to gain access.
Type in your CASD email address and click on "Next". Type in your email password to gain access.

O365 Login
All CASD employees and students have a Microsoft Office 365 account.
You may access your O365 account from any browser, computer, phone or tablet by going to this URL: https://www.office.com/
Sign in using your CASD email credentials.
username is your entire email address (XXXX@casdschools.org) and the password is the same one you use to log into your computer.
You now have access to all of your apps including "One Drive" which are located in your O365 Account.If you are unable to login or cannot remember your password, contact us by utilizing our online Helpdesk system. -
OneDrive
All CASD employees and students have a OneDrive account.
You may access this by signing into your O365 account and choosing the cloud icon under 'Apps'
or by going direclty to the OneDrive login on any device:
Sign in using your CASD email account.

Reset Password for Outlook
Password Reset Steps:
- Go to Internet Explorer.
- Type in www.outlook.com
- Login with you @casdschools.org email and type in your current password.
- In the top right corner go to your initial’s icon (might be a picture instead of initial’s).
- Then click “My Account”.
- Once the page has loaded. Go to the top right again and click the icon that looks like a gear.
- A dropdown menu will appear and one of the choices will be “Password”.
- The last step is to type in the current password then type in the new password twice.
- Your password is now reset.
- Go to Internet Explorer.

Technology Help Ticket Login
Each employee has access to our Technology Help Ticketing system. To gain access to this system, use your computer credentials. You may find a link to this on our main page, or click on this link: Helpdesk
If you are unable to gain access to the Helpdesk ticketing system, please email Technology.
Once you gain access, please provide as much information as possible. Below is an example of a ticket that has been filled out.
Fields you should fill out:
- Type: defaults to incident. No need to change this.
- Category: Drop down. Choose the best option
- Urgency: defaults to medium (for Tech use)
- Hardware Type: Drop down (if this is for your Laptop, you may choose your device here)
- Location: Drop down - Choose your location.
- Watcher: No need to fill this out unless you have someone other than you that needs to see this ticket.
- Title: Enter your Room# and Extension# and a brief description (broken chromebook)
- Description: Enter as much information here as possible. If it is a device, enter the make/model# and CASD# of the device if you are able. Also enter all error messages you have received or anything that you have already tried to fix the issue. This helps us troubleshoot faster.
- Drag/Drop or Browse to file: You may take screenshots and upload them into your ticket for help with troubleshooting.
- "Submit Message" - This is very important. Once your ticket is completely filled out, clidk on "Submit Message". You should receive a confirmation that the ticket was submitted.
