Miss Katya Hubiak

Teaching is an absolute passion of mine!  I am so excited to work with you and your child.  It is going to be a year full of fun, learning, and lots of adventures, and I can't wait to see what the year has in store for us!  As we begin this year, I thought you might like to know a little bit about me.

My family is a big part of my life and I spend much of my free time with them!  I have two dogs - Kira and Max, and three cats - Henry, Angus, and Phineas.  Some of my hobbies include reading, cooking, baking, and DIY crafting.

I graduated from La Salle University in 2011 with my bachelor's degree in elementary and special education.  In December 2015, I graduated from Cabrini College with my master's degree in education with a focus on reading education.  I am currently continuing my education at Cabrini College (again) to become an administrator.  One of my future goals is to be a director of special education!

This will be my fourth year teaching Life Skills here at CAISH.  Before coming to CAISH, I was an 8th grade math co-teacher at South Brandywine.  Prior to that, I taught four years of life skills support and two years of multiple disabilities support at Frankford High School in Philadelphia and a year and a half of pre-kindergarten at a private preschool in Exton.  It is my mission to instill a love for learning in my students.  I attempt to share a passion for knowledge so that my students develop a desire to become life-long learners.  Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns!  It is so important to keep communication open between us and I would love to speak with you whenever you feel the need.  I look forward to a great year together!
