Yesterday, members of the Coatesville Area School District met with board members from the Coatesville Community Education Foundation for a strategic planning meeting in the College & Career Center at Coatesville Area Senior High School.
The meeting provided an opportunity to come together, share ideas, and establish goals for the future as we continue working collaboratively to support our students, schools, and community.
We are grateful for the continued partnership of the Coatesville Community Education Foundation and its commitment to creating opportunities for our students.

SPIRIT WEEK IS UNDERWAY AT THE HIGH SCHOOL CAMPUS!
Homecoming Week is here, and our students and staff are getting into the spirit with a full week of fun at the High School Campus!
Monday kicked things off with Adam Sandler Day, and there was no shortage of creativity as students and staff dressed as their favorite Adam Sandler characters from his many movies.
From some familiar movie characters to plenty of classic Sandler-inspired looks, our Red Raiders had a little fun getting Homecoming Week started!
And this is only the beginning! Stay tuned throughout the week as we share more of the fun and school spirit leading up to Homecoming!

A little rain couldn’t stop the C-ville Picassos — the Campus Art Club — from sharing their creativity at the Coatesville October First Friday event!
Our student artists had a great time displaying their work, connecting with members of the community, and even selling some of their artwork! What an exciting opportunity for our students to showcase their talents and experience what it’s like to share their creations with others.
A special thank you to Kure MacDonald from Art Mark Alliance for helping make the evening possible by providing the students with tables, chairs, and a tent to keep them covered despite the rainy weather!

SUPER SCIENCE. SUPER OPPORTUNITIES!
Some of our Coatesville students spent Saturday exploring the possibilities of STEM at Super Science Saturday at West Chester University!
Girls in grades 6–12 had the opportunity to take part in hands-on STEM activities, explore areas that interested them, and connect with women working and studying in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and math.
Throughout the day, students worked alongside STEM faculty and undergraduate mentors, participated in experiments and activities, and wrapped up the experience with a Q&A featuring women in STEM from the university and industry.
Some of our Coatesville students spent Saturday exploring the possibilities of STEM at Super Science Saturday at West Chester University!
Girls in grades 6–12 had the opportunity to take part in hands-on STEM activities, explore areas that interested them, and connect with women working and studying in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and math.
Throughout the day, students worked alongside STEM faculty and undergraduate mentors, participated in experiments and activities, and wrapped up the experience with a Q&A featuring women in STEM from the university and industry.

Doe Run Elementary students had some special guests waiting to welcome them to school on Friday!
Members of Me We City were on hand to greet students as they arrived, offering plenty of smiles, encouragement, and positive energy to help start their day.
Me We City continues to show up for our schools and our students, reminding them that there is an entire community behind them, cheering them on and supporting their success.

Our JV team battled hard from start to finish, putting up a great fight before ultimately falling to Upper Darby.
Then it was Varsity’s turn, and our Lady Raiders came away with the win!
Congratulations to both teams for competing hard and representing Coatesville with pride, and a special congratulations to Varsity on a great victory!

Today, on National Custodian Appreciation Day, the Coatesville Area School District recognizes the dedicated custodians who work each day to keep our schools clean, safe, welcoming, and ready for our students and staff.
Much of what they do happens behind the scenes — before our students arrive, throughout the school day, and after everyone has gone home. From preparing classrooms and maintaining our buildings to responding whenever an extra hand is needed, their work plays an important role in everything we do.

MAKING A SPLASH AT NORTH BRANDYWINE!
Eighth-grade students at North Brandywine Middle School are putting their engineering skills to the test as they learn about designing Ocean Energy Converters (OECs) and exploring how alternative sources of energy can be harnessed.
As part of the unit, students designed and built their own water turbines — and turned the challenge into a little friendly classroom competition!
Using only the flow of water, students tested their designs to see whose turbine could remain continuously powered the longest.

GROWING, CREATING, AND HAVING FUN AT RAINBOW!
The Rainbow Garden Club is off to a wonderful start!
Students from kindergarten through 5th grade joined Dr. Chrisman for their first Garden Club meeting of the school year on Tuesday. With some help from a great group of parent volunteers, students rolled up their sleeves and got to work weeding the Rainbow Elementary garden.
But the fun didn’t stop there! Students also used sticks, twine, colorful leaves, seed pods, and some of the garden’s last blooming flowers to create their own fall flags.
It was a perfect opportunity to get outside, explore the changing season, and experience the signs of fall through some hands-on fun!

Kindergarteners in Mrs. Pandosh’s class had a delicious time celebrating Apple Week!
Students learned all about the apple life cycle, tasted different varieties, practiced counting and sorting, and participated in plenty of hands-on apple activities along the way.
And what better way to wrap up all that learning than by making their very own homemade applesauce!
From exploring and counting to tasting and creating, there was plenty of learning and fun packed into one delicious week!
What a sweet way to learn!

PEPPING UP POSITIVE CHOICES AT RAINBOW!
What better way to reinforce positive behavior than with an exciting schoolwide pep rally!
From the moment students arrived at Rainbow Elementary on Friday, the energy was high as they were greeted with plenty of school spirit before coming together in the gym for a PBIS Pep Rally filled with fun, games, and excitement!
Making the celebration even more special, students from the high school joined in the fun, including members of the football team, cheerleading team, dance team, and marching band. Officers from the Valley Township Police Department were also there to show their support and cheer on our Rainbow students!
PBIS, or Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports, helps create a positive school environment by teaching expectations and recognizing and reinforcing the positive choices our students make each day.
What a great way to bring our students and community together, celebrate positive choices, and end the week with plenty of Rainbow and Red Raider pride!
