safety patrol
  • The AAA Safety Patrol program has been around for 100 years. It is a peer leadership program that promotes the development of leadership skills and good citizenship qualities in students. For the past 10 years, I have had the privilege of being the Safety Patrol Supervisor for Rainbow Elementary School. I am responsible for the effectiveness and value of the Safety Patrol by guiding day-to-day activities such as scheduling, problem-solving, and directly overseeing the patrols on post.
    AAA Safety Patrol student candidates will be selected on the following criteria:
                      * Ability to follow rules
                      * Good attendance record
                      * Good judgment
                      * Courtesy
                      * Respect for classmates
                      * Desire to help others
    Below you will see the Patrol Pledge. Every member of the patrol will have to know, understand, and follow this pledge. Failure to do so will result in belt suspension or permanent removal of Safety Patrol responsibilities.

    Patrol Pledge
    I promise to do my best to:
    * report for duty on time
    * perform my duties faithfully
    * always set a good example
    * obey my teachers and officers of the patrol
    * report dangerous student practices
    * strive to earn the respect of fellow students

    There will be five Safeties chosen from each homeroom every trimester in addition to TWO captains per homeroom (each captain serves 1/2 year).

    Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
