Dear Rainbow Students and Families,

I am honored to have the opportunity to lead a school with such persevering students, an extremely dedicated staff, and a supportive school community.  I feel very fortunate to be part of this school and to support the students and families.

I have been dedicated to the field of education for twenty-two years, and I have worked with students ranging in age from Kindergarten through 8th grade in a variety of roles. I have been an elementary summer school teacher and an ELA teacher for grades 6-8. Most recently, I served as one of the Assistant Principals at North Brandywine Middle School.  I am thrilled to bring my skills as an educational leader to Rainbow Elementary School and to work with you as a partner in education to ensure your child's success.

On a personal note, my husband and I both graduated from the Coatesville Area School District in 1994. I have the unique opportunity to be the principal of the elementary school I attended because I am a Rainbow Elementary School alumnus!  My husband and I have two daughters.  Our youngest daughter is in eighth grade, and our oldest daughter is a junior in high school. In addition to my daughters, I have two canine children- Hudson and Scout.

I view education as a life-long process and expect that I will continue to learn much about the uniqueness of Rainbow this year and in the years to come.  I value high standards by providing rich learning experiences for all students. Most importantly, I bring a belief that students are at the center of all school-related decisions.  I am excited to unite my experience, my openness to learn, and my child-centered approach to support our students.  Because the relationships between families and the school are vital to the success of our students, I encourage you to become involved in every way possible.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Maria Stauffer
