SEPTEMBER 2026 SCHOOL BOARD MEETING HIGHLIGHTS

Raider Review

Dear CASD Families, Staff, and Community Members,

On Tuesday, September 22, the Coatesville Area School District Board of School Directors held its monthly meeting as we wrapped up the first full month of the 2026–2027 school year. With students and staff settling into their routines, the meeting provided an opportunity to celebrate the many accomplishments already taking place across our schools, highlight the progress of district initiatives, and act on items that support continued student success. We are pleased to share some of the highlights from another busy and exciting month across CASD.

Celebrating Excellence Across CASD

  • CASD celebrated National Arts in Education Week, highlighting the creativity, talent, and artistic expression of our students and the important role the arts play in education.

  • The Coatesville Red Raider Marching Band traveled to Rustin High School and brought home first place in the US Bands Group 1A competition! They also earned specialty awards for Best Color Guard and Best Visual.

Investing in the Future of Learning

  • Our brand new Doe Run Elementary opened its doors to students for the first day of school on Tuesday, September 8.

  • The Coatesville Area School District held a groundbreaking ceremony for board members, staff, students, and community members for the new North Brandywine Middle School.

  • CASD has partnered with West Chester University to offer girls in grades 6–12 a free field trip to their campus on Saturday, October 3, for a day of hands-on science learning, engaging activities, and opportunities to meet professionals working in STEM fields.

Connecting With Our Community

  • CASD’s Student Climate Ambassadors were recognized at the City of Coatesville’s First Friday celebration in September for their outstanding volunteerism and continued commitment to community outreach.

  • Schools across CASD commemorated Patriot Day with special activities honoring our first responders, military veterans, and all those who serve and protect our communities and country.

  • Me We City kicked off their annual year-long initiative at Coatesville Area Senior High School on the first day of school by visiting a different CASD school each month to greet students with positive messages and words of encouragement.

As we reflect on the first month of the school year, there is so much to celebrate across CASD. From the excitement in our classrooms and hallways to the accomplishments of our students and staff, the positive energy throughout our schools has set the tone for a great year ahead. Thank you to our students, families, staff, and community for helping make the start of the 2026–2027 school year such a positive one.

We will continue Building the Future for Student Success and creating opportunities for every student to learn, grow, and thrive.

Together, we are Coatesville Proud!

Sincerely,
Anthony P. Rybarczyk, Ed.D.
