Dear CASD Families, Staff, and Community Members,
Last night’s Coatesville Area School District Board of School Directors meeting was held virtually due to road conditions following last weekend’s winter storm. The evening featured thoughtful discussion and forward-thinking initiatives, and we are pleased to share several key takeaways centered on student success.
Celebrating Excellence in CASD
The Board approved and welcomed Jennifer Becker, the newly hired Assistant Principal at Rainbow Elementary School.
The district is excited to announce the approval of two new Personal Finance teachers for the 2026–27 school year.
Beginning this year, the district is pleased to announce the creation of a School News Program Advisor for the high school campus.
Investing in the Future of Learning
Elementary schools received approval to offer Reading Olympics Clubs.
“Dinos, Dinos, Dinos” is the theme of the Delaware Museum of Nature & Science Mobile Museum Walk-By Booth, which will visit King’s Highway Elementary School.
King’s Highway Elementary School looks forward to piloting a new Crocheting Club.
Students and staff are thrilled that beginning in the 2026–27 school year, every instructional space in the district will be outfitted with a Smartboard.
Also beginning in the 2026–27 school year, the district will purchase 1,500 new Chromebooks for students in grades 6–12 to replace aging devices.
Connecting with Our Community
The district is pleased to announce a collaboration with Union Community Care to provide onsite primary health care year-round for CASD students and families.
Celebrating a century of Black history awareness, Coatesville Area Intermediate High School will host a Black History Month Celebration. This evening event will be open to the community.
The Community Connections Work Session snow date has been rescheduled for Tuesday, February 24, 2026.
The MLK Day Edmund Pettus Bridge March Re-enactment has been rescheduled due to weather. The new date is Saturday, March 7.
Because the district observed a traditional snow day on Monday, January 26, the built-in makeup day for the 2025–26 school year will be Monday, April 6.

ASPECTOS DESTACADOS DE LA REUNIÓN DE LA JUNTA ESCOLAR

Estimadas familias, personal y miembros de la comunidad de CASD,
La reunión de la Junta Directiva del Distrito Escolar del Área de Coatesville de anoche se llevó a cabo de manera virtual debido a las condiciones de las carreteras tras la tormenta invernal del fin de semana pasado. La velada contó con reflexiones significativas e iniciativas con visión de futuro, y nos complace compartir varios puntos clave centrados en el éxito estudiantil.
Celebrando la excelencia en CASD
La Junta aprobó y dio la bienvenida a Jennifer Becker, recientemente contratada como Subdirectora de la Escuela Primaria Rainbow.
El distrito se complace en anunciar la aprobación de dos nuevos maestros de Finanzas Personales para el año escolar 2026–27.
A partir de este año, el distrito se complace en anunciar la creación del puesto de Asesor del Programa de Noticias Escolares para el campus de la escuela secundaria superior.
Invirtiendo en el futuro del aprendizaje
Las escuelas primarias recibieron la aprobación para ofrecer Clubes de Olimpiadas de Lectura.
“Dinos, Dinos, Dinos” es el tema del Museo Móvil del Museo de Naturaleza y Ciencia de Delaware, que visitará la Escuela Primaria King’s Highway.
La Escuela Primaria King’s Highway espera con entusiasmo iniciar un programa piloto de un nuevo Club de Tejido (Crocheting Club).
Los estudiantes y el personal están muy entusiasmados de que, a partir del año escolar 2026–27, todos los espacios de instrucción del distrito estarán equipados con pizarras inteligentes (Smartboards).
También a partir del año escolar 2026–27, el distrito comprará 1,500 nuevos Chromebooks para los estudiantes de los grados 6–12 para reemplazar los dispositivos más antiguos.
Conectándonos con nuestra comunidad
El distrito se complace en anunciar una colaboración con Union Community Care para brindar atención médica primaria en el lugar durante todo el año para los estudiantes y las familias de CASD.
En celebración de un siglo de concientización sobre la historia afroamericana, la Escuela Intermedia Superior del Área de Coatesville será anfitriona de una Celebración del Mes de la Historia Afroamericana. Este evento nocturno estará abierto a la comunidad.
La fecha de nieve de la Sesión de Trabajo de Conexiones Comunitarias ha sido reprogramada para el martes 24 de febrero de 2026.
La recreación de la Marcha del Puente Edmund Pettus por el Día de MLK ha sido reprogramada debido al clima. La nueva fecha es el sábado 7 de marzo.
Debido a que el distrito observó un día de nieve tradicional el lunes 26 de enero, el día de recuperación programado para el año escolar 2025–26 será el lunes 6 de abril.
