🛡️ RAIDER REVIEW 🛡️

Highlights from the June 2025 School Board Meeting
Coatesville Area School District

Dear CASD Families, Staff, and Community Members,

We’re pleased to share this edition of the Raider Review, highlighting the key moments from last night’s Coatesville Area School District School Board Meeting. It was an evening filled with pride, celebration, and progress as we recognized excellence within our school community and moved forward on important district initiatives.

🏆 Celebrating Excellence in CASD

The Board proudly recognized several outstanding individuals whose contributions have made a lasting impact on our students, schools, and community:

  • Mr. Joseph Tassoni, teacher at Coatesville Area Intermediate High School, was honored as a nominee for the National History Day 2025 Teacher of the Year Award. His commitment to historical inquiry and academic excellence continues to inspire our students every day.

  • Mr. Matthew Ortega, Coatesville’s head football coach, was recognized for his groundbreaking role as the first minority head coach in the Big 33 Pennsylvania Scholastic Football Game. His leadership, both on and off the field, has been an example of pride, perseverance, and community impact.

  • Ms. Jacqueline Rose, a dedicated parent, was celebrated for the donation of an original artwork that beautifully portrays her son’s journey through his elementary years at Rainbow Elementary School. Her gift serves as a meaningful tribute to the power of public education and the parent-school partnership.

  • Miss Emma Scheivert, senior at Coatesville Area Senior High School, was recognized for her exceptional service as a student representative to the School Board over the past two years. Her voice, leadership, and dedication have brought a valuable student perspective to district governance.

🎓 Gracious Donations Supporting Our Seniors

The Board accepted several generous donations that will directly benefit our graduating seniors, including:

  • Honor Roll Awards sponsored by Dan White and Associates, ensuring students are recognized for their academic achievements.

  • Additional senior-focused donations aimed at supporting end-of-year celebrations, awards, and scholarship opportunities.

We are sincerely grateful to our community partners and donors for their continued investment in the success of our students.

🏗️ Investing in the Future of Learning

In further support of the district’s long-term vision, the Board approved a number of critical agenda items related to the construction and development of new, state-of-the-art school facilities. These projects are designed to provide our students with modern, engaging, and safe environments where they can grow, thrive, and achieve their highest potential.

The continued progress on these facility plans reflects our collective commitment to innovation and excellence in public education across Coatesville.
