School Board Meeting Highlights – May 2025 Edition
Coatesville Area School District

As we continue our shared commitment to supporting students, families, and staff across the Coatesville Area School District, we are excited to share several important updates from this month’s School Board meeting:

👥 New Leadership Appointments

We are proud to announce the hiring of two outstanding individuals to key leadership positions within our district:

  • Mrs. Dawn Mader has been named the new Director of Student Climate and Belonging. Mrs. Mader brings with her a wealth of experience in student support and community-building strategies, and we are excited to welcome her as she begins leading this essential work to foster belonging and positive school culture across the district.

  • Mr. Brian Davis, currently an English teacher at Coatesville Area Senior High School, will begin his new role as the district’s Communications Specialist. Mr. Davis’s talent for storytelling and passion for our schools will help strengthen our connection with families, staff, and the greater community.

Please join us in enthusiastically welcoming Mrs. Mader and Mr. Davis to their new roles! Both will begin their positions within the next couple of months.

🤝 Community Support and Partnerships

The School Board extends heartfelt thanks to the many local organizations and businesses that continue to support our schools. Recent donations highlight the incredible commitment from partners in and around the Coatesville Area School District. Your generosity plays a vital role in the success of our students and programs. Thank you!

We also approved a continued agreement with A Child’s Place, ensuring that high-quality before and after-care services remain available to support working families across the district.

🏫 Facility and Program Enhancements

  • The board is excited to share that playground renovations at Rainbow Elementary School have been approved! These improvements reflect our continued investment in providing safe, engaging, and well-maintained facilities for our youngest learners.

  • A new digital solution, Pickup Patrol, has been adopted to streamline student pickup procedures at our elementary schools. This system will improve safety, reduce confusion, and significantly lessen the daily logistical demands on our front office staff. More information will be shared with families ahead of its implementation.

🎓 Celebrating Student Leadership

A very special thank you goes to Emma Scheivert, our Senior Class Board Representative, for her outstanding service during the 2024–2025 school year. Emma has been a dedicated student voice at the table, and we wish her the very best as she graduates and moves on to the next exciting chapter of her journey. Congratulations, Emma!

As always, thank you for your continued support of our students, staff, and schools. Stay tuned for more updates, and we look forward to seeing you at our next Committee Meetings on June 10 and a Special Board Meeting following to approve the 25-26 budget.  Our next Regular School Board Meeting will be held on June 24 at 6:00 PM in the Administration Building Learning Center.
