The Coatesville Area School District is proud to recognize and celebrate National Arts in Education Week, September 13–19! This week, we recognize the creativity of our students and the dedication of our arts educators while celebrating the important role that visual arts, music, theatre, dance, and media arts play in education.
Through the arts, students develop creativity, critical thinking, collaboration, communication, and confidence—skills that help them succeed in the classroom and beyond. Every Student, Every Community.

A LESSON IN REMEMBRANCE AND HEROISM
Patriot Day provided an important opportunity for our King’s Highway Elementary students to learn about remembrance, service, and what it means to be a hero.
Students were joined by officers from the West Caln Police Department, members of the Wagontown Fire Company, and Officer Ghee from the Coatesville Area School District. The gathering began with the playing of the National Anthem before members of the fire company spoke about the importance of remembering September 11 and those who were lost.
Officer Ghee then shared a special message with students about what it means to be a hero, reminding them that heroism can be found in courage, kindness, helping others, and serving your community.
We appreciate our first responders for spending time with our students and helping make this day of remembrance a meaningful learning experience at King’s Highway.

Today, across our country, solemn and reverent ceremonies are being held to honor and remember those who were lost and those families, friends, and colleagues who were impacted 25 years ago on September 11, 2001.
This morning, our AFJROTC held a flag-raising ceremony and led an announcement commemorating that day and reflecting on its lasting significance.
Throughout the day, remembrance will continue across our schools and classrooms as students learn about the events of September 11 and honor the lives lost, the courage shown, and the many acts of service and sacrifice that followed.
Today, the Coatesville Area School District joins our community and our nation in remembering.

Ms. Fichter’s class had a fun and engaging science experience while experimenting with fizzy dinosaur eggs! Students explored a simple chemical reaction by combining baking soda and vinegar, which caused their “eggs” to fizz and bubble. As the reaction took place, they watched their dinosaurs hatch, making for an exciting hands-on learning activity.
