Wednesday night's student-led Hispanic Heritage Month Community Celebration at CASH was filled with music, dance, and cultural pride as students showcased the rich traditions and heritage of our Hispanic and Latino communities!
Keynote speaker Matt Ortega shared his Mexican heritage and spoke about how this year's theme, "Together, We Are More," influences his approach to working with students and coaching football. Beloved principal Melissa Willis also reflected on her Latina heritage and offered inspiring words of encouragement to our students.
It was a wonderful evening that brought students, families, and community members together to celebrate, participate, and appreciate the cultures and traditions that make our community special!

CELEBRATING NATIONAL SCHOOL BUS SAFETY WEEK!
October 19–23 is National School Bus Safety Week, an important reminder that keeping our students safe on their way to and from school is everyone's responsibility!
Each day, thousands of students across the Coatesville Area School District rely on school buses to get to and from school safely. This week, we're reminding students, families, and motorists of the importance of practicing safe habits, especially when students are boarding or exiting their buses.
We also want to extend a special THANK YOU to our dedicated school bus drivers and transportation staff who work hard every day to help get our students to and from school safely!
Let's all do our part to keep our Red Raiders safe — one bus stop at a time!

PUMPKINS, PLANTS, AND PLENTY OF FALL FUN AT RAINBOW!
Rainbow Elementary School's Garden Club got into the fall spirit during its October meeting with a fun and creative project — turning pumpkins into beautiful planters filled with colorful fall mums!
With help from parent volunteers, students scooped out pumpkin seeds, flipped the pumpkins over, and learned how drainage holes help keep their plants healthy. The finished pumpkin planters are now proudly on display in front of the school, adding a festive touch of fall for everyone to enjoy!
And the best part? Nothing went to waste!
Mrs. McPherson took the leftover pumpkin tops and pulp home to share with her donkeys, chickens, goats, and sheep, who were more than happy to enjoy some delicious fall treats of their own!
A big THANK YOU to Dr. Chrisman and our parent volunteers for helping make this hands-on activity possible and to Mrs. McPherson for making sure every part of the pumpkins was put to good use!

MORE FIRE PREVENTION FUN AT RAINBOW ELEMENTARY!
Fire Prevention Week continued at Rainbow Elementary School on Friday with a special visit from the Westwood Fire Company!
Students had the opportunity to meet firefighters, see what they look like in their full protective gear, learn when to call 9-1-1, and get an up-close look at the company's ambulance and fire trucks!
And the learning didn't stop there! Dr. Chrisman's kindergarten class took the excitement back into the classroom, creating their very own fire trucks complete with ladders that moved up and down! Students also enjoyed reading Scholastic News Let's Find Out to learn even more about fire safety.
What a great way to combine hands-on learning, creativity, and important safety lessons!

WHAT A HOMECOMING WEEKEND IN COATESVILLE Part 1
What a night! What a crowd! What a way to celebrate Homecoming!
Friday night brought a beautiful fall evening to Coatesville Memorial Stadium, and the excitement was everywhere as our Red Raider community came together for a Homecoming celebration filled with tradition, school spirit, and plenty of Coatesville pride!
From alumni returning home and cheerleaders from across the district joining in the festivities to the sounds of our Red Raider Marching Band, there was something special about being under the Friday night lights!
The evening also featured one of Homecoming's most anticipated traditions — the crowning of our 2026 Homecoming Queen!
And our Red Raider football team made sure the celebration continued on the field, delivering an impressive 42–0 victory over Avon Grove!
It was a fantastic way to cap off a week filled with school spirit, traditions, and celebrations that brought our students, staff, families, alumni, and community together. Because no matter when you graduated or where life has taken you, there's nothing quite like coming HOME to Coatesville!

GROWING, CREATING, AND HAVING FUN AT RAINBOW!
The Rainbow Garden Club is off to a wonderful start!
Students from kindergarten through 5th grade joined Dr. Chrisman for their first Garden Club meeting of the school year on Tuesday. With some help from a great group of parent volunteers, students rolled up their sleeves and got to work weeding the Rainbow Elementary garden.
But the fun didn’t stop there! Students also used sticks, twine, colorful leaves, seed pods, and some of the garden’s last blooming flowers to create their own fall flags.
It was a perfect opportunity to get outside, explore the changing season, and experience the signs of fall through some hands-on fun!

What better way to reinforce positive behavior than with an exciting schoolwide pep rally!
From the moment students arrived at Rainbow Elementary on Friday, the energy was high as they were greeted with plenty of school spirit before coming together in the gym for a PBIS Pep Rally filled with fun, games, and excitement!
Making the celebration even more special, students from the high school joined in the fun, including members of the football team, cheerleading team, dance team, and marching band. Officers from the Valley Township Police Department were also there to show their support and cheer on our Rainbow students!
PBIS, or Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports, helps create a positive school environment by teaching expectations and recognizing and reinforcing the positive choices our students make each day.
