The King's Highway Student Safeties, led by Ms. Ollis, visited La Mancha Animal Rescue to learn about the work they do for the community. Students got to see the horses, goats, cat condo, and numerous dogs at the shelter. Part of their volunteer work was to help socialize a few puppies through playtime—a very important job that the King's Highway team took on. In addition to their visit, students collected and donated essential supplies (food, cleaning supplies, towels...) to the shelter.

We are little over a month away before the Winter concert this year. We will be starting before school rehearsals; the first one is on Wednesday November 6th at 8:15am. The students will need to be dropped off on the west side of the building near the gymnasium and cafeteria area. I will be there to open the door before rehearsal starts at 8:15am. Please make sure students have all their music materials with them.

Students in Mrs Pandosh's kindergarten class cashed in their filled star chart for a sweet treat. The star chart is part of the khs whole class PBIS system.
Today, students in Mrs. Pandosh kindergarten class at Kings Highway collected data on a sampling of adults in the building asking the question do you like spiders. It was close. Seven of the people asked like spiders and nine of the people asked did not. Officer Ollis was even asked if he likes spiders :)

Mrs. Swisher's first-grade students at King's Highway are excited to participate in SpringMath during math. SpringMath involves paired learning opportunities, allowing each child to take turns being the "worker" and the "helper." As the worker, the student will think aloud and share their problem-solving process, while the helper will offer feedback through strategies and helpful hints if his or her partner encounters any mistakes. The ultimate goal during this activity is to collaborate and achieve as many correct answers as possible. This interactive approach not only enhances learning but also promotes teamwork and critical thinking skills among the students.
