Book Fair – Our book fair will be running all week. It’s a wonderful opportunity for students to explore new books and grow their love of reading. We hope you’ll encourage your child to visit and maybe find a new favorite story! -
CVC Antibullying Programs – In early October, students will take part in CVC’s antibullying programs. These lessons are designed to help our students learn the importance of kindness, respect, and community. -
PBIS Kick-Off Assembly – Last Friday, we celebrated our Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) with a fun and energizing kick-off assembly. Our students showed great school spirit, and we are excited for a year of reinforcing positive choices together.

On behalf of myself and the staff at Kings Highway Elementary PTO, thank you for doing your part to make our fundraiser a success. | |  | This year's theme: STORYBOOKSign up to be a participant in our Trunk or Treat event on Saturday, October 25th! Due to space, this event will be capped at 30 cars. This Title 1 family engagement night promises to be a blast! Please carefully read the participant guidelines below: NEW for 2025: *Trunk Themes will be storybooks or movies/TV shows that are also books. Please display the chosen book in your trunk!*
- Trunk set-up begins at 3:00 pm
- Electricity will not be available
- Prize will be awarded to the top trunk
- Voting will close at 5:30 pm, and the winner will be announced at 5:45 pm.
- Candy will be provided to all trunks from the donations collected*
- Trunk decorations should be appropriate for an elementary sch ool. No weapons.
- We have room for 30 trunks and will be first-come, first-served in the sign-ups.
- Please indicate the storybook/theme in the sign-up
| | | Volunteers NeededWe are excited for the first book fair of the year! teachers have signed up for days and times their classes will shop at the bookfair, but we need some help to make this bookfair run smoothly. Volunteers are what make it all happen.

We love having families volunteer! If you are interested in volunteering in any of our CASD schools, please complete the necessary background checks. Once you receive the various approvals, send them to your student's school. You may email, mail or drop them off with the front office. Keep the originals as they are good for five years(60 months). Pennsylvania State requirements for volunteers School volunteer requirements are currently under review at the state level. In July of 2023, the General Assembly passed House Bill 1276 updates were made for volunteer and employee clearances. CASD School Volunteer Policy #916 | | | |  | Starting the first week of OctoberCVC offers grade-specific lessons that help students understand what bullying is, how to treat others with kindness, and what to do when they see or experience hurtful behavior. Each program is tailored to the age and developmental level of the students. For Kindergarten–2nd Grade: -
Emotional Awareness & Empathy: Kids learn to recognize and name their own feelings and notice how others may feel. -
Being a Good Friend: Discussions and activities show what positive friendship looks like (sharing, including others, kind words). -
Understanding Bullying: Students learn the difference between bullying and normal conflict, so they know when to ask for help. -
Making Amends: Practicing how to apologize sincerely when mistakes are made. -
Prevention Skills: Simple tools to stop bullying before it happens (speaking up, including others, asking for help). For 3rd–5th Grade: -
Seeking Help: Empowering students to go to an adult when needed. -
Safe, Strong Communities: Identifying what makes a community safe, respectful, and welcoming. -
Self-Regulation: Learning strategies to manage emotions and reactions. -
Understanding Bias: Introducing age-appropriate lessons about discrimination and stereotypes. -
