•                           Meet your teacher

I am proud to say Rainbow Elementary has been my second home for 14 years! While I had some experience with the younger grades during my first year, 5th grade is my true calling. Fifth graders are full of wonder, excitement, and curiosity. It's hard to believe this will be my twelfth year teaching 5th grade. Time flies when you're having fun!

I earned both my Bachelor's (Early Childhood & Elementary Education) AND Master's degrees (Elementary Education with a focus in Literacy) from West Chester University. Throughout my studies, I learned more than I ever thought possible! Implementing new strategies and techniques into my classroom is something I strive to do every day. I am STILL taking courses to further my knowledge. A few years ago I worked with two professors from my graduate studies on an action research project to further grow as a learner and educator.

Pennsylvania has been my home for a little over 19 years. I immediately fell in the love with the area. Originally from Western New York, it was a relief to see a lot of sunshine and NOT a whole lot of snow. I currently reside in Glen Mills with my son and dog.

My son, Dylan, just turned 17 in July. He is entering his SENIOR YEAR at Unionville High School. Dylan loves mathematics and working on computers. He is enrolled in an engineering program and is even taking college classes through DCCC. Dylan enjoys visiting my classroom and meeting my second family (my students) whenever possible. My dog, Watson, is an energetic 5-year-old chocolate lab. Watson loves to swim, play fetch, and vising the pet store to get new tennis balls. He loves people and making friends with other dogs.

When I am not having fun at Rainbow, I enjoy spending time with my family, laughing with friends, READING (my favorite genre is mystery), playing board games and ping-pong, taking Watson on relaxing walks, watching movies and cooking shows, scrapbooking, and traveling. I am silly, adventurous, and always ready to try something new.

Hopefully you got to know a little more about me after reading this section. If you want to know more, just ask!
