Dr. Eugenia Roberts

Dear Coatesville Parents and Guardians,

Dr. Eugenia Roberts has been in the CASD for over 20 years. Dr. Roberts has been an administrator at the Coatesville Area Intermediate Senior High School, Alternative Education Program, Cyber Academy, Scott Middle School and North Brandywine Middle School. Dr. Roberts loves the fact that she is now collaborating with her former students who have students in her building; knowing people helps to build relationships.

Education is a second career for Dr. Roberts. She has experience with Child, Inc., Domestic Relations, the Department of Public Welfare, Chester County Juvenile Probation, and Chester County Mental Health. Dr. Roberts believes that through education, experience with various community programs/services and County agencies that she can help the whole child succeed.

Dr. Roberts graduated from the University of Delaware with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice and a concentration in Sociology. Dr. Roberts felt that it was necessary to stop the pipeline from school to prison, so she went back to school and earned a master’s degree in Education, Home and School Visitor Certification, and Principal Certification K - 12 from Widener University. Her goal is to be proactive in educating our young people instead of being reactive to their environment. Therefore, Dr. Roberts received her doctoral degree in organizational leadership and learning, in May of 2012 from Wilmington University.

Dr. Roberts believes that every student is entitled to attend school, receive respect, and obtain a quality education. Parents should always be empowered to get involved in their child’s education so that together – we can make a difference. To that end, Dr. Roberts created programs for African American students to achieve academic and social success thus creating a positive change through education and defying negative stereotypes. The first program is called B.R.I.D.G.E.E (Brothers, Reaching Individually Determined to Generate Educational Excellence) which is currently active at the Coatesville Area Senior High School Campus. The second program is called S.I.S.T.E.R.S (Sisters In Step Toward Education Respect and Self-Esteem).

As the Principal at North Brandywine Middle School, Dr, Roberts recognizes the following important areas: Student Learning and development, communication and transparency, and social and emotional learning. Additionally, celebrating, honoring, and embracing our diverse community is very important to our growth and it prepares students for the future along with recognizing the safety of all students. Dr. Roberts believes that parental support and involvement is very important so please get and stay involved.
