Mrs. Rita Tingle-Lewis

I am a native of Queen Anne's County, Maryland.  I received my Bachelor of Science in Music Education, Vocal/Choral concentration from West Chester University in 1987.  I carry a Masters Equivalency, having earned credits in Music Education, Vocal Performance, Curriculum and Instruction, and Professional Development from West Chester University, Gratz College, University of Phoenix, and Lourdes University.

I have been teaching in the Coatesville Area School District since 1988.  I left teaching for a brief hiatus in 1990, and returned in 1993.  Positions held consist of:

* General Music Teacher-Grades K-3/7-8, Rainbow Elementary School and Gordon Middle School (Jan. 1988-June 1988)

* General Music Teacher- Grades 6-8, Gordon Middle School, South Brandywine Middle School (Aug. 1988-June 1989)

I have participated in the Coatesville Gospel Music Workshop, and have acted as voclaist, director, presenter, and accompanist.  I have participated in the Pottstown Gospel Music Workshop, sang with "Friends United For Christ," local music ministry, and Acted as Minister of Music for Second Baptist Church in Coatesville, PA from 1998-2005.  I am currently a member of the "Burke Family Singers," presently three generations of family singing a cappella Gospel music for over 50 years.  I am the faculty advisor for the Coatesville Campus Gospel Choir, under the founder, (Elder) Rolland Holmes, III.  I have taught private voice and piano for several years.

I am a married mother of two, and I enjoy music (of course), reading, artistic expression of all kinds.
