Mrs. Hengel

As a Learning Support teacher at King's Highway Elementary, I love working with students in their classrooms and other educational environments. Supporting their learning in Math, Reading and Writing  Collaboration with General Education Teachers on modifications and along with parent input is another essential part of my position.  I also run a social club for 5th grade students called "Lunch Bunch," which gives students an opportunity to discuss social situations and learn social skills in an informal small group working lunch environment.

Growing up in the suburbs of Chicago, Illinois, (Evanston,) my family and I moved to Pennsylvania in 2010 when my husband was transferred here. My professional background includes teaching students with special needs in five states across the country, as well as being a Music Therapist and Music Teacher.  I love all types of music and Music Theater, but Classical Music holds a special place in my heart, as my main instrument is the cello. Between giving private lessons, playing in community orchestras, being a wife and mom of 3, it keeps life moving pretty fast!
