• About the Superintendent
     

    Dr. Catherine Van Vooren has been an educational leader for 18 years, 11 of which have been with the Coatesville Area School District as a school administrator. She has served her community in roles such as a special education supervisor, assistant principal, principal, Director of Student Services, and now as Superintendent of Schools. Dr. Van Vooren has been fortunate to spend her career working on behalf of students with unique strengths and diverse learning needs.

     

    Dr. Van Vooren attended Downingtown Senior High school and received her undergraduate degree in science from the University of Pittsburgh; her master’s degree in educational leadership from Immaculata University; and her doctorate in educational leadership and management from Drexel University. She currently lives in Downingtown with her husband, two children, and crazy chocolate lab.

     

    As a strong proponent of inclusion and diversity, Dr. Van Vooren believes firmly in working with the entire community to plan strategically for our future and for the future of our students. Her vision for the Coatesville Area School district is to create a school community of growth and caring rooted in providing equitable access to quality learning experiences for all students.
